2-day wheel-throwing course for beginners (2 dates)
January 31 and February 1 from 11:00 to 15:00 o'clock
and
February 28 and March 1, from 11:00 to 15:00 o'clock
We will go through the different stages of wheel throwing: centering, opening, and pulling up the clay. On the first day, you will learn how to throw bowls. On the second day, you will learn how to trim and finish the pieces you made.
The course gives you basic ceramic skills in using the pottery wheel and shaping the clay on the wheel.
The pieces you make will be dried, fired, and finished in the studio after the course. When the ceramics are ready, they can be picked up at the studio; this takes about 4 weeks.
There will be a lunch break on both days. Please bring a packed lunch or make use of the food options available in Finestrat. We serve coffee, tea, and water in the studio.
Time: January 31 and February 1 or February 28 and March 1, from 11:00 to 15:00 both days.

Nora Doria is a visual artist with extensive teaching experience across all age groups — both privately in some of Norway’s largest art studios and as a school art teacher.
She discovered her love for ceramics while studying fine art, when sculpting with clay became a natural extension of her artistic expression.
For the past decade, Nora has shared the magic of clay — through both handbuilding and wheel-throwing — with countless happy participants.
“It’s fascinating and almost magical to work with a lump of clay and watch it gradually take on a life, personality, and identity of its own. That’s what I want to share with you here at Studio FinestrArte!”

Studio FinestrArte is located in the picturesque mountain village of Finestrat, known for its narrow cobbled streets, colorful houses, charming squares, flower-filled balconies, and cozy cafés and restaurants.
You’ll find an 18th-century church, vibrant cultural life, and great hiking opportunities nearby.
Finestrat is also a favorite destination for Spanish cyclists, hikers, and climbers who come to explore the 1,406-meter Puig Campana, mountain — with its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, visible from the old town where the studio is located. From Studio FinestrArte, it’s less than a 15-minute drive to La Cala Beach, only 40 minutes by shuttle from Alicante Airport, and under two hours to vibrant Valencia— perfect for combining your stay with a city visit.
